A heart attack was responsible for the death of George A. Jones, 64, last Friday afternoon. Mr. Jones had been confined to his home, suffering from heart trouble for the past, month.

He was seized with one of the attacks Friday noon, but it was not thought at the time that it would be serious. He had bravely thrown off the others and it was thought he would be able to light off this one but he was unsuccessful and passed on to the Great Beyond.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon and burial in the Goldfield cemetery.

Obituary

George A. Jones was born in Moulter county, III., May 7, 1871, and died at his home in Eagle Grove, Iowa, May 10, 1935, at the age of 65. He graduated from the Normal school at Sullivan, Ill., and was united in marriage to Miss Florence Hobbs April 25, 1895, at Arthur, Ill., and they moved to Iowa, locating at Holmes, where they resided for several years, then moving to Eagle Grove, where they have since made their home. Three children were born to this union, Orville of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Jack E. Smith of New Hampton and Mrs. W. W. Miller of Waterloo, and one brother, Barney Jones of Ottumwa and one sister, Mrs. Xenia Houseman, of Litchfield, Minn., survive.

Mr. Jones was in the hide and produce business for thirty years, traveling in the northwest part of the state until the firm he was with discontinued business since which time he has been active in different lines of work. He served on the city council for six years and was Clerk of the Modern Woodmen at the time of his death

Mr. Jones was a good husband and father. He leaves to mourn his wife, three children and nine grandchildren and many friends in and around Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the Kubitschek and Kastler funeral home, Rev. J. G. Eaton having charge. He was laid to rest in the Goldfield cemetery to await the coming of the Lord.
