Jessena K. Jensen Jeppson
26 April 1891 --- 10 November 1983

Jessena K. Jeppson, the daughter of Dan and Anna Jensen, was born on April 26, 1891 in Skeland, Jutland, Denmark. She grew up in Denmark and in 1907, she came to the United States of America and settled in the Goldfield, Iowa area. In 1909 she was united in marriage with John Jeppson at Goldfield. To this union was born one, Roy. The family lived and farmed in the Goldfield area and later moved to an acreage in Goldfield. Mr. Jeppson died in 1950. She continued to live at Goldfield until 1952, when she moved to Spencer, where she made her home until the time of her death. During her life, she had a special love for animals, especially cats and dogs, she also loved to garden and grow flowers. In her later years, she made many craft items and was very good in making many different kinds of crafts. She was a long time member of the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield.

Mrs. Jeppson died on Thursday afternoon Nov. 10, 1983 at her home in Spencer, after a lingering illness. She attained the age of 92 years, six months and 20 days.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Madora Jeppson of Spencer; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Carrie Jeppson of Barrington, Ill. and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John and a son, Roy, who died in January, 1983.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jessena K. Jeppson, 92 of Spencer and formerly of Goldfield, were held on Saturday, Nov. 12, 1983 at 1 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Pastor Al Moss of Spencer officiated and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
