John Lester, 72, died suddenly at his home here early Monday morning. He and his sister, Mrs. Oliver Kelling, with whom he made his home were sitting in the kitchen when he dropped over dead. He had been suffering from heart trouble for the past year. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Glenn Frasier of Holmes and Mrs. Osmund Lee of Thor and by two brothers, Will of What Cheer, and Clark of Rose Hill and his sister, Mrs. Oliver Kelling.

Funeral services were held at the Eiler Funeral Home at Clarion on Wednesday afternoon with the pastor of the Clarion United Presbyterian church in charge of the service. Burial was in the Glenwood cemetery.

Cpl. Faye Kelling of Camp Holtz [Bowie], Texas, arrived here Wednesday morning to attend the service. –Goldfield

John B. Lester died suddenly on Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the home of his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kelling with whom he has been making his home for many years. The past year Mr. Lester has been confined to his home due to a heart affection and it has been many months since he has been able to walk to town to the doctor's office for consultation. The shock of his death came as a blow to his sister, Mrs. Kelling, who has ministered to his needs the greater part of his life.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in Clarion at the Eiler funeral home. The following obituary was read at the last rites:

John Bell Kelling was born at Gibson, Ia., March 15, 1873 and died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kelling at Goldfield on November 6, 1944. He was married to Emma Robb September 23, 1920. Two daughters were born of this union, Mrs. Glenn Frazier of Holmes and Mrs. Osmund Lee of Thor.

He leaves to mourn is passing, his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kelling, his daughters, Mrs. Frazier and Mrs. Lee, granddaughter Sharon Kay Frazier and Gerald Lee, also two brothers, William Lester, of What Cheer, Iowa, and Clark Lester of Rose Hill, Iowa, and many other relatives and friends who held him in high esteem,

He united with the United Presbyterian church at the age of 14. Rev. William A. Muir of the United Presbyterian church of Clarion had charge of the services. The pallbearers at the funeral were Raymond, Lloyd and Harry Lester, Stanley Anderson, James Darland and George Heard.

The out of town people attending were: Mrs. Cecil Brower, Mr. Lloyd Lester, all of What Cheer, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Anderson, Mrs. Ella Lester, Mrs. Marion Lester, all of Clarion. Mrs. Ora Lester, Mr. and Mrs. George Heard of Eagle Grove and Cpl. Faye Kelling of Camp Bowie, Texas.

John Bell Lester was born at Gibson, Iowa March 15, 1873 and died Nov. 6, 1944 at the home of his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kelling, Goldfield, Iowa.

He was married to Erunea Robb Sept. 23, 1920. Two daughters were born to this union. Mrs. Glenn Fraser, Holmes, and Mrs. Osmund Lee, Thor, a granddaughter, Sharon Kay Fraser and a grandson, Gerald Lee; also, two brothers, William Lester, What Cheer, Iowa, Clark Lester of Rose Hill, Iowa and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kelling, of Goldfield, Iowa.

Many other relatives and friends mourn his passing.

He united with the United Presbyterian church at Gibson when 14 years of age,

Out of town relatives who attended the funeral service for John Lester on Wednesday were Will Lester, Mrs. Cecil Brower and Loyd Lester of What Cheer; Cpl. Faye Kelling of Camp Bowie, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Anderson, Mrs. Ella Lester and Mrs. Marian Lester of Clarion and Mr. and Mrs. George Heard and Mrs. Ora Lester of Eagle Grove. –Goldfield
