Corwith -- Funeral services or F. S. Frisbie, 84, were held Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist church. The Rev. Paul Williams of Humboldt, former pastor here, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Von Elbert. Burial was n the Goldfield cemetery.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Donald, Raymond and Harold Frisbie of Fairmont. Minn., Robert Lepper and Harry Frisbie of Corwith and a great-grandson, Durwood Stroud, of Renwick.

Surviving are his wife, four sons and three daughters, Bert of Corwith, Mrs. Tillie Rasmussen of Renwick, Mrs. Nelle Unger of Britt, George of Ringsted, Harlow of Fairmont, Minn., Ben of Britt and Mrs. Bertha Cox of Burt. One son, Frank, preceded his father in death.

There are also 32 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Miles of Newton and. Mrs. Mary Preston of Auburndale, Fla., and one brother, F. L. Frisbie, of Tampa, Fla.

Corwith –Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist church for Ferd S. Frisbie 84, pioneer blacksmith and wagonmaker, who died Thursday morning following a week's illness of pneumonia. The Rev. Paul William of Humboldt, former pastor here will officiate, and burial will be in the family lot at Goldfield.

Mr. Frisbie had until a year ago been active in his occupation for 64 years. He opened a black shop here in 1916.

Surviving are his 87-year-old widow, seven children, 31 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.

Mrs. C. L. Rasmussen returned home Monday evening from Corwith. Mrs. Rasmussen’s father F. Frisbie passed away and the funeral was held at Corwith last Saturday. –Boone Center

Corwith, Iowa, March 21: —Funeral services were held for F. S. Frisbie, 84, Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Baptist church, with the Rev. Paul Williams, of Humboldt, a former pastor of the church, in charge, assisted by the pastor, the Rev. Von B. Elbert. Selections sang by the choir were, “Face to Face,” “Going Down the Valley” and “Safe in the Arms of Jesus.” Burial was made in the family lot at Glenwood cemetery at Goldfield, with his grandsons, Donald, Raymond and Harold Frisbie of Fairmont, Minn., Robert Lepper and Harry Frisbie of Corwith, and one great grandson, Durwood Stroud, of Renwick, as pall bearers.

Fred Samuel Frisbie was born at Cedar Falls, Iowa, January 16, 1855, the second of a family of six children and spent his childhood on farms in Hardin county.

At the age of 19, he was married to Philappine Gross at Berlin, Iowa, and he took up the blacksmith and wagon making trade, carrying on his work at various places, spending twelve years at Wellsburg, Iowa. In 1892 the family moved to a farm in Wright county, but Mr. Frisbie operated a shop at the small town of Thrall, while his wife and family worked the farm.

In 1902 the moved to South Dakota where they lived until 1906 when they bought a farm in northern Minnesota. Not liking the farm, they returned to Iowa and took up the blacksmith trade. They moved to Corwith in 1916 where he operated his shop until his sickness.

One son, Frank, preceded him in death, in January 1938 and immediately after Mr. Frisbie became ill and had been in failing health since, being bedfast only six days before his death which came Thursday, March 16, 1939 at 5:15 a. m. at the age of 84 years and 2 months.

He is survived by his aged wife, who is ill, and seven children, all of whom were at his bedside, 32 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. The children are Bert, of Corwith; Mrs. Tillie Rasmussen, of Renwick; Mrs. Nelle Unger, of Britt; George, of Ringsted; Harlow, of Fairmont, Minn.; Ben, of Britt; ad Mrs. Bertha Cox, of Burt.

Other survivors are two sister, Mrs. Bertha Miles, Newton, Iowa, and Mrs. Mary Preston, Auburndale, Florida, and a brother, F. L. Frisbie, at Tampa, Florida.
