December 23, 1921 --- January 30, 1986

Ilene M. Armstrong, 54, of Westview Care Center, Britt, died Thursday, January 30, at Mercy Hospital in Mason City. Memorial services will be at a later date. The body was donated to the University of Iowa to further medical science.

A former Clarion resident, Miss Armstrong was born December 23, 1921 at Worthington, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Luke C. and Lucy (Fritz) Armstrong. She attended Clarion schools and worked in the Clarion area for many years. She worked in the meat department for several years at Robie’s Grocery Store in Clarion. Ilene was a member of the Church of Christ, Clarion and the Royal Neighbors of America, Clarion Chapter.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Kerch and Marjorie Mennig, both of Clarion; four brothers Robert Armstrong of Eagle Grove; Leon Armstrong of Pasadena, Texas; Chester Armstrong of Ogden, Iowa and Ralph Armstrong of Sioux City; also surviving are several nieces, nephews and friends.

Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, Mason City was in charge of the arrangements.
