Martin Lauritz Larsen, son of Rev. and Mrs. Anders Larsen, was born January 5, 1887, at Orum, Nebraska. He passed away July 11, 1950 at the home of his sister Mrs. Hannah Johnson of Eagle Grove, Iowa. He had reached the age of 63 years, 6 months and. 6, days.

He was baptized and confirmed as a child in the Norwegian Lutheran church at Orum, Nebraska. He spent his early childhood at Orum, Neb., having attended public schools there. In 1904 the family moved to Thor, Iowa and lived there until the death of his father, Rev. Larsen.

In 1915 he was united in marriage at Decorah, Iowa, to Anna Ness. They made their home there for several years later moving to Calmer, Iowa, where his wife passed, away in August, 1949. He was preceded in death by his father, and mother, his wife and two brothers, Chris of Madison, Wis., and Gustav of Rockford, Ill. He is survived, by six sisters, Mrs. P. O. Knutson, Mrs. Hannah Johnson, Mrs. Martin Johnson of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Joseph Jantsch of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Matilda Rolland, Blair, Neb., Mrs. P. C. Krey, Norfolk, Neb.

Services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, at the Wilson Funeral Chapel, Eagle Grove, Iowa with Rev. K. R. Torvig officiating. Final funeral services were held at two p. m., Thursday afternoon, July 13 at the Norwegian Lutheran church, Calmar, Iowa. Rev. Preus of Calmer officiating. Burial was on the family lot in Saude, Iowa cemetery.
