John Baptist Schumacher
30 May 1884 --- 6 November 1971John B. Schumacher, 87, died Saturday at Rotary Ann Home where he had been a resident for four years.
Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
He is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Harold Segar and Miss Joan Schumacher of Redlands, Calif., and Mrs. Charles Knight of Webster City; one sister, Mrs. Matt Adams of Webster City, 12 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren.
Born at Cabery, Ill., Mr. Schumacher came to Iowa in 1839 and attended Wright County schools. He married Rose Keppers in 1913, and their wedding was the first in St. John's Catholic Church, Clarion. They farmed near Eagle Grove until moving into town in 1948. Mrs. Schumacher died in 1968. Mr. Schumacher was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus.
