Robert Knox Hawkins, 52, 5402 28th Ave., Moline, was found dead at his home, Thursday afternoon.

James Shaw, Rock Island County coroner, said Hawkins died of self-inflicted wounds. The body was taken to the Wendt Brothers Funeral Home, Moline, where visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the Kasler-Babcock Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, Iowa, for services. Burial will be in Goldfield, Iowa.

Mr. Hawkins was born in Goldfield. He married Myrtle Allen April 13, 1951, in Anoka, Minn.

He was a brick mason.

Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife; a daughter, Holly, at home; his father, George Hawkins, Goldfield, and sisters, Mrs. Russell Franz [France], Waverly, Iowa, and Mrs. Robert Hanson, Eagle Grove.

Funeral services for Robert K. Hawkins, 52, a former Goldfield resident who died at his home in Moline, Ill. Thursday, were held Monday, Nov. 25 at the Goldfield Methodist Church with Rev. Duane O’Tool officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle; a daughter, Hollie at home; his father, George Hawkins, Goldfield; two sisters, Mrs. Russell France, Waverly and Mrs. Robert P. Hanson, Eagle Grove.

Born at Goldfield, Mr. Hawkins attended schools there and at Denver, Colo. In 1951 he married Myrtle Allen at Anoka, Minn. He was employed as a brick mason at Molines, Ill. –Goldfield Chronicle.
