Gerald Douglas "Jerry" Naughton (1927-1939)

Gerald Naughton, 11 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Naughton of this city, died at his home here Monday, July 3, at approximately 5:30 p. m. The boy had never been in good health since his birth. The direct cause of his death was attributed to peritonitis.

Gerald Douglas Naughton was born in Pocahontas on July 26, 1927 and died July 3, 1939. He leaves to mourn his death besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Naughton, two brothers, James, 16 and Dick, 4.

The funeral was held Wednesday at 9:00 a. m. at Sacred Heart church with Rev. Father Geo. F. Wessling officiating. Interment was in Calvary cemetery.

The pallbearers were: Alyosius Krejchi, Jerome Nedved, Howard Goodyear, Bob Miller, Howard Shimon and Francis Hudek, all of Pocahontas.

Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Klinger and son Junior of Fort Dodge, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Martens of Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Dunlavey of Mason City.
