Margaret Isabel O'Toole Thielen

M. Isabel Thielen, 93, of Eagle Grove, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held on Friday, June 30, 2006, at 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Father Chris Podhajsky celebrating. Burial was held in Calvary Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Thielen, and wife, Jean; daughter, Maureen Thielen; three grandchildren. Misty Williams, Jeffrey and Ernest Thielen; one great-grandchild, Christopher Williams, all of Eagle Grove; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Matt, in 2001; son, James Thielen in 1982; four brothers, Roger O'Toole, Dr. L. C. O'Toole, Father Tom O'Toole, and Jerry O'Toole; and two sisters, Alice Mentzer and Eileen Kircher.

M. Isabel Thielen, the daughter of Dr. Thomas J. and Mary (Collins) O'Toole, was born October 29, 1912, in Eagle Grove. She graduated from Catholic High School and attended Rosary College in Chicago, where she graduated with a teaching degree. On June 12, 1951, Isabel was united in marriage to Matt Thielen at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. Isabel worked as a teller at Security Savings Bank for 16 years until 1951 when she stayed at home to raise her children. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Sacred Heart Guild, and a sewing circle. Isabel was one of the founders of Wright County Retarded Children's Association and treasurer of North Central Sheltered Workshop in Fort Dodge for many years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing cards.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family. Funeral arrangements were handled by Foust Funeral Home of Eagle Grove.
