Wilhelm Brandt Funeral Today
Funeral services will be held this afternoon (Thursday), for Wilhelm Brandt, 78, who died Monday night at his home on North Wright Ave. Service will be held in the Wilson Funeral Chapel, at 2:00 o'clock in charge of the Rev. T. J. Severtson. Mr. Brandt is survived by two daughters and two sons, including Alfred Brandt of this city.

Wilhelm P. Brandt was born on April 25, 1866 at Grunhum, Germany and died at Eagle Grove, Iowa Monday May 15, 1944 at the age of 78 years and 20 days. He was baptized unto Christ in infancy, received instruction and confessed his Christian faith.

On July 7th 1890 he was united in marriage to all Ottillie Orttlieb. Six children were born to this union. In 1921 Mr. and Mrs. Brandt came to America to LuVerne, Iowa and in the spring of 1934 they moved to Eagle Grove where Mrs. Brandt passed away from this life November 10th 1936.

Mr. Brandt is now survived by six children, Alfred of Eagle Grove; Reinhardt of Los Angeles Calif.; Erna Brandt of Allerton; Mrs. Elsa Cornovale of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Martha Evans of Chicago, Ill. and Mrs. Selma Zucke of Detroit, Mich. As far as we know his brothers and sisters have passed away before him.

Mr. Brandt was a quiet and assuming man, kind and gentle. He lived with his son Alfred and enjoyed to be occupied about the home and the place. As far as we knew him he loved God but the language used by us in our church worship was not his language. He therefore had his communion with his God at his home. At times he came though to worship with us.

Funeral services were held on Thursday May 18 at the Wilson funeral Chapel. burial was made in the family lot of the Rose Hill Cemetery.
