Alma Marie Thompson Nelsen
26 September 1901 --- 11 September 1986

Alma Marie Nelsen was born on September 26, 1901 at Eagle Grove, Iowa to Andrew and Anna (Olson)
Thompson. She attended school in Eagle Grove and graduated from High School in 1918. She taught school for two years before her marriage to John Howard Nelsen of Goldfield on October 20, 1923. They farmed near Goldfield for several years and then moved to a farm near Holmes where they farmed for 31 years. They retired to live in Eagle Grove in 1962. Mr. Nelsen died in 1984.

To this union were born four children: three sons: Roger Nelson and Donavon Nelsen of Clarion and John Nelsen Jr. of Holmes. Also, one daughter, Janice (Mrs. David) Soma of Eagle Grove. She is survived by a half brother, Arthur Roseland of Eagle Grove, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She passed away on September 11, 1986 at the Villa Park Care Center in Fort Dodge at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 15 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one grandchild.
