Goldfield community has been called again to note and mourn the passing of one of the early settlers of Wright County. Mrs. Peter S. Anderson died at her home Sunday, Nov. 5, at 11:25 p. m. She was seriously ill only during the last week.

Fransine Hanson was born in Snide, Langland, Denmark, on Sept. 22, 1857, and attained the ripe age of 82 years, 1 month and 13 days at the time of her death. On April 4, 1882, she was united in marriage to Peter S. Anderson in the old home country. Leaving the familiar surroundings of their childhood and youth, the young people migrated to America and made this their adopted country. Since then, the Goldfield community has been their abiding place.

Of this union ten children were born, two of whom, Rebecca and Jimmie [Jennie], died some years ago. The husband also preceded Mrs. Anderson in death. The eight children who survive their mother and mourn her passing are Mrs. C. R. Freeman and Miss Lillian Anderson of Des Moines, Mrs. D. C. Meyers of St. Paul, Minn., Miss Elizabeth Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn., Otto Anderson of Waterloo, Chris, Millard and Miss Jessie Anderson of this community. There are also nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

It was a comfort to Mrs. Anderson that all her living children could be at the bedside during her last illness. She was conscious to the last and said her work in life was done; she was ready to go.

When 14 years of age, Mrs. Anderson confessed the Christian life in confirmation in the Fodslette Lutheran church in Denmark and maintained this membership through all the rest of her lite. The words of the Divine Father were fulfilled in her case, "With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

Mrs. Anderson was. a quiet soul, giving her time and thought to her home and family, of which she was truly "Mother", and center of all, and was highly esteemed by her neighbors and friends.

Funeral services were held at the family home on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 8. conducted by Rev T. S. Bassett, pastor of the Goldfield Methodist church. Members of the choir furnished the music. Interment was made in the Glenwood Cemetery.
