Sarah Elizabeth Beisell, only daughter among the seven children of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Beisell, was born at Worcester, Ohio, April 17, 1848.

When about eighteen years of age she removed with her parents to Iowa, the family settling in Franklin county near Belmond, where on October 28, 1865, she was married to W. V. Polmateer. Shortly thereafter, with her husband, she moved to farm near Luni, where they continued to reside until 1881, when they became residents of Goldfield, and here she lived for forty-six years until her death on June 11, 1927, at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 24 days.

She is survived by three brothers, Samuel Beisell and Lemuel Beisell, both of whom are now living in Marcola, Oregon, and Beach Beisell of Goldfield. She was the mother of eight children, of whom four are living: Loren Polmateer, of Sidney, Iowa; Ira P. Polmateer, of Livingston, Texas; Chauncey Polmateer, of Goldfield, and Nellie Polmateer Matheson, also of Goldfield.

Her final illness was protracted and for twenty-seven months she was increasingly helpless, the recipient of unceasing care by her daughter, in whose home she passed away.

" We all do fade as a leaf; . . . But now, O Jehovah, thou are our Father; … and we all are the work of thy hand.”
