Lela Fannie (Losee) Clark
17 March 1908 --- 19 June 1986

Lela Fannie Clark, the daughter of Harry and Amy Mowatt Losee, was born on March 17, 1908 at Frederika, Iowa. She was married to Melbourne H. Clark on May 30, 1927 at Waterloo, Iowa. The family lived in Waterloo a few years and then moved to Eagle Grove. As a young woman she worked in the J.C. Penney and Blacks Dept. Stores in Waterloo. During World War II, she and some other members of her family worked in the Boeing Aircraft plants in Seattle, Wash, and in 1946, they returned to Eagle Grove where they have made their home. Mr. Clark died in 1975. Lela was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church, was a charter member of Women's Society of Christian Service in Eagle Grove, and presently a member of the United Methodist Women, the Rebekah Lodge, the Royal Neighbors, and V.F.W. Auxiliary in Eagle Grove.

She died Thursday night, June 19, 1986 at the Clarion Care Center where she had been a resident for the past few weeks. She attained the age of 78 years, three months, and two days.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Harlan and Beatrice Clark of Minnetonka, Minn.; three grandchildren, Micaela, Meghan, and Christopher Clark, all of Minnetonka; four sisters: a twin sister, Mrs. Lola Bernard of Cedar Falls; Mrs. Edith Johnson of Seattle, Wash.; Betty, Mrs. Alfred Jacobson of Eagle Grove; Evelyn, Mrs. Ben Eastman of Cedar Falls; three brothers: Earl Losee of Waterloo; Laveme Losee of Baton Rouge, La.; and Vernon Losee of Seattle, Wash.; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and one grandson, Damion.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lela F. Clark, 78, of Eagle Grove, were held Monday, June 23, 1986 at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Scott C. Hall officiated, and burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held on Sunday at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
