Avanelle Suzanne Perry Paine
11 September 1902 ---- 12 February 1991

Avanelle Suzanne Perry was born September 11, 1902, in Flint, Mich., the daughter of Arthur and Avanelle Lula Marsh Perry. She grew up in Lansing, Mich., where she graduated from high school.

She was united in marriage to Gordon E. Paine of Eagle Grove on March 16, 1922. The young couple farmed north of Eagle Grove, until retiring in 1968. Gordon preceded her in death in 1972.

She participated in many community activities as a founder of the L.B. Bridge Club, president of the Women's Guild, a member of East-West Bridge Club, Country Club Bridge Club, Equality Club, and the A Sharp Music Club. She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Eagle Grove.

She entered the Rotary Ann Home last year, and died there Tuesday morning, February 12, 1991, at the age of 88 years, five months, and one day.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Harold Perry; and two sisters, Annabelle Vebber Bennett, and Rachel Manz Renard. She is survived by her son, Perry, Birmingham, Mich.; her daughter, Patricia Suzanne Forrest of Trenton, N. J.; eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Services were held at the United Church of Christ, Eagle Grove, Saturday, February 16. The Rev. Kevin Cassiday-Maloney officiated at the 11 a.m. service, and burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. The Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
