Ellen Severina (Johnson) Thompson
16 June 1888 --- 14 May 1968

Mrs. H. B. Thompson, 87, died early Tuesday morning at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Dodge where she had been a patient for about 10 days following a stroke. She had not been well for the past several weeks.

Funeral services will be this (Thursday) afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Samuel Lutheran Church in charge of Pastor Marvin Dooley. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband, one daughter, Miss Burnette Thompson of Oakland, Calif., and one son, Arden Thompson of RR 2 Eagle Grove, and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Thompson, the former Ellen Severina Johnson, was born on a farm west of Eagle Grove on June 16, 1881 in the house across the road from the present Thompson farm home. She was baptized, confirmed, and married in the little country Lutheran Church which was not far from their homestead. This church has since been torn down.

Mr. and Mrs. Thompson had farmed most all of their married life, and moved to their present home at 202 North Cadwell, some years ago.

Miss Burnette Thompson arrived Tuesday afternoon to be present for her mother's funeral.
