June 17, 1959 --- August 10, 1990

James Edgar Kongable was born on June 17, 1959, the son of Edgar and Luella Tade Kongable at Kirksville, Mo. He attended Edina, Mo., schools and graduated from Knox County High School in 1977. He was united in marriage to Roxanne Johnson of Waterloo on July 24, 1981, at Forsythe, Mo. The couple made their home in Waterloo. He was employed as a tool and die maker for the John Deere Manufacturing Company in Waterloo for a period of six and one-half years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.

James Kongable died at the Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, on August 10, 1990, following injuries he suffered in an automobile accident earlier that morning. He had attained the age of 31 years, one month, and 23 days.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Kongable. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Angela, Rebecca, and Jennifer, all at home; his mother, Luella Kongable of Mason City; one brother, Albert Kongable and his wife, Teresa, Orlando, Fla.; and his grandmother, Merle Tade, Mason City. Also surviving are his wife's parents, Jerry and Anita Johnson, Vincent; and numerous other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., August 13, at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, with the Rev. John Hembry of Lime Springs, officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. The Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
