Carl Carlson
4 October 1886 --- 25 January 1963

Carl Carlson, 76, died at the Clarion hospital, Friday, Jan. 25 after a brief illness.

Mr. Carlson, a native of Norway, had lived in Wright County since he was 17. He had lived in Eagle Grove since his retirement. Mr. Carlson is survived by his brother, John Carlson, of Eagle Grove.

Funeral services were held at the Sandvig Funeral Home Monday afternoon in charge of Pastor Kenneth Torvik. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery

Carl Carlson, 76, died at Clarion hospital Friday, Jan. 25 after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at Sandvig Funeral Home Monday at 2 with Pastor Kenneth |Torvik officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Carl was born Oct. 4, 1886, to Tonnes and Anne Karlson near Stavanger, Norway. He was baptized and confirmed in his Christian faith in Norway. At the age of 17 he came to the United States and worked on the farm of his uncle, Sten Stenson, at Holmes and later worked on other Wright County farms.

He served in World War I, including front line service in France. At the age of 65 he retired to Veterans Home in Marshalltown and a year or two later to Clarion and Eagle Grove.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lars Johan and Tonnes Andreas, and a sister Anna Serina, who all died in Norway. He is survived by one older brother, John, of Eagle Grove.
