Carlyle Arthur “Chuck” Rossman (1908-1964)

Carlyle Arthur Rossman was born August 30, 1908 at Clarion, the son of Frank and Elsie Rossman, both now deceased. He passed away June 13, 1964, at Veteran's Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. at the age of 55 years and 10 months.

"Chuck" enlisted in the United States Navy on April 22, 1942 at Fort Dodge. He received honorable medical discharge on June 6, 1945.

On April 21, 1947 he was united in marriage to Adella Thomsen. To this union was born one child, Jerry.

"Chuck" was part owner of the Lake Cafe and lived till the time of his death at 1309 East Seventh.

Services for Mr. Rossman were June 16 at 2 p.m. from Lakeside Presbyterian church with Dr. Luther Powell officiating. Mrs. Sylvia Gunn was organist and accompanied soloist, John Dumkrieger.

Bearers were Art Witt, Tom Frederiksen, Russ Robinson, Virgil Jones, E. E. Owen and Harry Schaller. Burial was in the Buena Vista Memorial cemetery with Hughes-Nelson funeral home in
charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rossman is survived by his wife and one son, a sister, Mrs. Viola Lesteberg of Goldfield and a brother, Alvin of Storm Lake.
