Laura Jessie (Braden) McCombs Watkins
23 July 1885 --- 4 July 1960

Mrs. Laura Watkins, 74, died Monday at University hospitals, Iowa City where she had been a patient since Saturday. She had been in failing health for some time. Funeral services will be this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kastler Funeral home in charge of Rev. Thomas Hoover, pastor of the Congregational church. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. Mrs. Watkins had been the receptionist at the Kastler Funeral home and had made her home there for many years. Survived by one sister, Mrs. Charles Slater of Boone, Mrs. Watkins was a life long resident of this city. Her maiden name was Laura Braden and she was born in 1886. Mr. Watkins died in 1952.
