Francis Earl Newburn
21 January 1885 ---- 17 Nov 1960

Francis E. Newburn was born to Oliver and Rhoda Newburn Jan. 21, 1885, at Hooepston, Ill. His childhood was spent on a farm near there. After graduating from Hoopeston, Ill. high school he taught in the rural schools of that community. He attended the University of Illinois before coming to a farm near Eagle Grove in 1911. He has farmed in this community since that time. For many years he took an active part in community affairs.

May 14, 1913, he was married to Maude Dignan. To this union three sons were born, Earl, Edward, and Roger. Besides his wife and sons, he is survived by 8 grandchildren and three sisters.

He was a member of the Methodist church; Bower Lodge 464 A. F. & A. M., and Medina Council, Eagle Grove Chapter 123. Also, Mt. Lebanon Commandry, Clarion.

He died suddenly at his home Thursday noon Nov 17.
