William Albert Smith

William Smith Dies Wednesday
William Smith, 76, died Wednesday afternoon in Mercy hospital, Ft. Dodge where he had been a
patient for one day, although he had been in failing health for several weeks. He is survived by one sister Miss Margaret Smith and one brother Peter Smith. He was an uncle of Roger Smith and Virgil Smith of Eagle Grove. Funeral services are Friday morning at 9:30 in Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Francis Phelan officiating. Mr. Smith was a life-long resident of Eagle Grove and was in the meat business here for many years. He and his brother Charles Smith were in partnership in a meat market on West Broadway which they closed about 1932, after which Wm. Smith started farming. He retired several years ago.
