James Cannon
March 1820 --- 8 February 1901

After an illness lasting over three months James Cannon passed to his final reward on Friday, February 8, 1901, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. C. Halsey, in this city. Mr. Cannon was born eighty-one years ago next March and came to Eagle Grove to make his home with his daughter about six years ago. In October of last year he began to fail, old age coming in to enfeeble him physically, and he has declined from that time until his death, Mr. Cannon leaves one daughter, Mrs. Halsey, who has patiently and lovingly watched over him during the last weeks of life. She will have the sincere sympathy of many friends in her bereavement. The funeral will occur on Sunday afternoon at the home at 2 o'clock, Rev. Southwell officiating.
