Funeral services for Margaret Wicks, 75, of Clarion were held from St. John's Lutheran Church on Friday, November 11 at 2 p.m. Rev. William Perkins officiated and burial was in Norway Township Cemetery. The Willim Funeral Home of Clarion was in charge of the arrangements.

Margaret died November 8, 1988 at her home, of cancer. Mrs. William Schroeder was the organist and Mrs. Steven Lashbrook was the vocalist. Casket bearers were grandsons- Kelly, Scott, Tom, LeRoy Wicks, Brent, Jim and Tommy Gabel and Lonney and Travis Tate.

Margaret was born at Mackinaw, Illinois on July 16, 1913. She was the daughter of Jesse and Esther Smith Hasty. When she was a small child the family moved to Kanawha where she graduated from high school and then attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City. On August 11, 1934 she married LeRoy A. Wicks in Illinois. They farmed south of Kanawha and then retired to Belmond. He died on June 27, 1974. In 1975 she moved to Humboldt and in 1985 moved to her home at Lake Cornelia.

Survivors include: four children, Gary of Clarion, Larry of Kanawha, Margy Gabel of Humboldt and Pam Tate of Goldfield; her mother, Esther Hasty of Morton, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two brothers, Jesse Hasty of Napa, California and Robert Hasty of Morton, Illinois and a sister, Marjorie Kerns of Humboldt. She was preceded in death by her father, husband, one brother, Harley and two grandsons, Kerry and Stacy Tate.

Margaret was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and St. John's Lutheran Women. She enjoyed golf, bowling and fishing.
