Louise Johnson Johnson
30 May 1890 ----- 24 May 1978

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Louise Johnson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City at 1:30 p.m. May 27, 1978. Officiating clergymen were Rev. John Hieronymus and Rev. Ole Winter. Miss Norma Goomgarden was organist and accompanied soloist, Rev. Paul Mork, who sang, "How Great Thou Art " and also accompanied the congregation in the singing of several hymns. Casketbearers were Jim Amosson, Tommy Amosson, Donavon Baker, Kim Greenfield, David Johnson and Wayne Johnson. Interment was in Norway Township Cemetery at Kanawha, Iowa with the Olson-Peterson Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Louise Johnson was born on a farm near Belmond on May 30, 1890, the daughter of Charles and Lena (Hagen) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed in the St. Olaf Lutheran Church near Belmond, and attended rural school in Wright County. On January 25, 1911 she was married to Tommy Johnson at her parents' home in Wright County. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson farmed in Wright County until moving to a farm west of Forest City in 1944. Shortly after the death of Mr. Johnson in 1960, Mrs. Johnson moved to her home in Forest City. Due to her failing health she has resided at the Good Samaritan Center since 1974. She died there on Wednesday evening, May 24 at the age of 87 years.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her ten children. They include: Chester of Kanawha, Leona, Mrs. Donald Baker of Goldfield, Lawrence of Fresno, California, Edith, Mrs. Carroll Burras of Kanawha, Ethel, Mrs. Eugene Arthur of Madera, California, Ruth, Mrs. John Katuin of Madiera, California, Cleo of Des Moines, Howard of Forest City, Frances, Mrs. Dean Swanson of Williams and John of Blacksburg, Virginia. Also a brother, Talford Johnson of Belmond, three sisters, Theoline, Mrs. Amos Wagner of Eagle Grove, Clara, Mrs. Thomas Wagner of Webster City, Aletta, Mrs. Alvin Enge of Fairmont, Minnesota, 34 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters in infancy, two sisters and five brothers.
