April 13, 1883 --- February 10, 1969

John A. Dettman, 85, died Monday at Belmond Hospital. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Fulton Funeral Home.

Born April 13, 1883, at Itasca, Ill., he was the son of John and Carrie Dettman. He was married April 10, 1907, at Belmond to Rosanna Brennan. Surviving are his wife, five daughters. Mrs. Evelyn Beavers and Mrs. Agnes Gabrielson both of Belmond; Mrs. Claude (Ardie) Johnson, Lake Cornelia; Mrs. Clement (Nellie) Didio, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Ernest (Edna) Pickering, Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Eichelman and Mrs. Mary Nelson, both of Banning, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
