Mrs. Marvin Grosland funeral Tuesday
Mrs. Marvin Grosland, 59, died January 2 at University Hospital, Iowa City, following a short illness. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald Forbes officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Grosland is survived by two children by a former marriage. They are William D. Thompson, St. Louis, Mo. and Mrs. LeRoy Babcock, Eagle Grove. Also three brothers: John Nelson, Monroe; Gerald Nielsen, Sioux City; Charles Nielsen, Eagle Grove; three sisters: Mrs. Anna Espevold, Grafton; Mrs. Carl Collins, Eagle Grove; and Mrs. Morris Welsh, Aux Vasse, Mo. and five grandchildren.

OBITUARY
Evelyn Mary Grosland was born November 11, 1911, at Eagle Grove, the daughter of Frederick and Elvina Sorensen Nielsen. She was educated in the Eagle Grove schools and grew up in Eagle Grove. She was united in marriage on October 28, 1928 at Renwick to Orville W. Thompson of Renwick. To this union four children were born, two of whom survive. They are William D. Thompson, St. Louis, Mo. and Helen, Mrs. LeRoy Babcock, Eagle Grove. The young couple lived at Renwick, Lone Rock and Indianola before Mr. Thompson served in the Marine Corps during World War II. Evelyn and her children made their home in Eagle Grove during this time. She was united in marriage to Marvin Grosland of Kensett in 1949 and made her home in Kensett for a number of years. For the past nine years she has lived at Denison.

She entered the hospital at Denison, in December, and as her condition worsened, she was transferred to the University Hospital at Iowa City, where she passed away on January 2, at the age of 59 years, 1 months and 21 days.

She is survived by her two children; three brothers: John Nelson, Monroe; Charles Nielsen, Eagle Grove; Gerald Nielsen, Sioux City; three sisters: Mrs. Anna Espevold, Grafton; Mrs. Carl Collins, Eagle Grove ; and Mrs. Morris Welsh, Aux Vasse, Mo. and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Chris Nielsen, and infant twin sons.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 5 at 2 p.m. in the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald Forbes officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove.
