William Andrew Spellmeyer

Funeral services for William Andrew Spellmeyer who died Feb. 15th in a Fort Dodge hospital were held Saturday afternoon in the Methodist church, Woolstock.

Rev John L. Scrivner of Vincent, pastor of the church officiated. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery, Eagle Grove and casket bearers were Raymond Ellingston. Luthro Johnson. Robert Toft, Les Ellingston, Clifford Toft, and Jerry Toft.

William Andrew Spellmeyer, son of Gottlieb and Demar Amerson Spellmeyer, was born in Humboldt Co. near Thor, Iowa, June 3, 1901. He passed away in the Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge Wednesday, Feb. 15 where he had been a patient since Monday. At the time of his death, he was 54 years, 8 months, and 12 days of age.

When William was eleven years of age he moved with his parents to Illinois and returned to a farm near Eagle Grove when he was twenty-one.

On March 26, 1927 he was united in marriage to Edna Lenor Ulstad of Eagle Grove. To this union were born four sons and one daughter, Roger of Woolstock, Delmer with the US Armv in Korea, Kenneth, and Marilyn at home, and James deceased.

The couple farmed in the Woolstock vicinity for nineteen years and in 1952 moved to Woolstock, where they operated a restaurant for some time.

His mother and son, James, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Lenor, three sons, Roger, Delmer, and Kenneth, one daughter, Marilyn, his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Spellmeyer of Eagle Grove, three half-brothers, Vernon of Woolstock, Carl of Hardy, George of Clarion, one half-sister Mrs. Raymond Rasmussen of Eagle Grove.
