Obituary of Mrs. Marit Harvey
(By Rev. Severtson)

Marit Anderson was born in Norway, Dec. 19, 1845, and died in Silverton, Oregon, Oct. 4, 1930, age 84 years, 9 months and 15 days. She came to America at the age of 19 years, and in 1866 she was married to Halbert Harvey at Dodgeville, Wis. In 1875 they moved to Humboldt county, Iowa, where they lived for many years, and where Mr. Harvey passed away from this life on Jan. 14, 1892. In 1909 she moved to Silverton, Oregon, where she resided until her death, with the exception of two visits back here to Iowa. On her last visit here, she had the misfortune of falling down on the sidewalk, fracturing her hip, for which reason the time of her visit was extended. It was during this time we had the opportunity to minister to her spiritual need, which service she heartily appreciated.

She now leaves five sons and one daughter, also two step-daughters and one step-son. They are: Antone Harvey, Black Duck, Minn., Henry Harvey of Goldfield. Mrs. L. M Dysver of Redelm, S. D., Carl Harvey, Silverton, Oregon; Nels Harvey, Warren, Minn., Rier Harvey, Grand Meadow, Minn. She had three daughters and two sons who died in infancy. The three step-children are: Mrs. E. H. Omoth of Lime Springs, Maria Harvey of Lime Springs, and Narvey Harvey of Goldfield. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren who mourn her death. Also by one sister, Mrs. Carrie Goplerud, Silverton, Oregon.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 10 from the Eagle Grove East Side Lutheran church. Burial was made at Goldfield cemetery.
