Edna Marion Eittreim Arne, 83, of Eagle Grove, Iowa, died January 14, 2016, at the Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. She was born to Sadie (Sarah) Bernice Horstman Eittreim and Emmery Olia Eittreim on January 11, 1933, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. After Edna's father died in 1955, her mother later married Ralph Rasmussen of Goldfield, Iowa. As a young woman, Edna worked as a nurse's aide at the old Saint Francis Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. Later she married Thomas Arne of Eagle Grove. They loved to spend time at their family lake cabin in Minnesota. Edna was a great cook, loved children, and always was about helping others. Though she never had children of her own, one of the greatest joys of Edna's life was helping to raise her step granddaughter, DeLynne Brady of Morristown, Tenn. She also worked at the United Church of Christ, and was a caregiver for many years.

Edna is survived by four stepchildren. Tommy Arne, Jr. (Nancy), of Goldfield, Connie Sears (Dale) of Afton, Wyo., Carol Botts (Marty) of Dyersville, Iowa, Cheryl Nelsen of Clarion, Iowa, nine step grandchildren, many step great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Marilyn Eittreim of Eagle Grove. 12 nieces, four nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, husband, two brothers, Calvin Jr. Eittreim and Maynard James Eittreim both of Eagle Grove, sister, Verna Margaret Crane of Waterloo. Iowa, and brother-in-law, Jack D. Crane, also of Waterloo.

There will be a private memorial service for the family in the early spring. Memorial gifts may be made to Foust Funeral Home, 103 North Cadwell Ave., Eagle Grove, Iowa.
