LOUISE PETERSON
Louise Marie Darland was born July 24, 1908, the daughter of James and Ruth Anna Griffee Darland, at Glidden. She received her education in the Goldfield school system, and graduated from Goldfield High School in i926. She then attended business college for a period of one year. She was united in marriage to George F. Peterson of Holmes on December 5, 1927, at Indianola. The couple farmed in the Clarion area for 30 years, before he became an engineer for the C. & G.W. Railroad. He died in 1981.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eagle Grove; O.E.S.; White Shrine D.E.L.L. Club;
Wright County Women's Chorus; Ladies Auxiliary of the B. of L.E.; and the Goldfield Legion Auxiliary. She entered the Rotary Ann Nursing Home, Eagle Grove, in January of 1990.

Louise Marie Peterson died October 23, 1992, at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, following a short illness. She was 84 years, two months; and 29 days of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Richard; and two brothers, Erwin and Glenn Darland. She is survived by two sons, Donald of Ketchikan, Alaska; and George John of Thor; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Shirley) Christian of Aurora, Ill.; a brother, Virgil Darland of Goldfield; 24 grandchildren; and
several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 26, at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove. The Rev. Scott C. Hall officiated at the 10:30 a.m. service. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion. Kastler-Babcock Services, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
