Edwin Theodore Harvey
14 February 1905 ---- 18 September 1968

Edwin T. Harvey was born February 14, 1905, near Goldfield, [Liberty township] the son of Narvey and Karen Jensen Harvey. He attended public schools, graduating from Goldfield High School and later receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in ceramic engineering from the University of Missouri, Rolla. He was a member of honorary fraternities Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi, the American Ceramics Society, Vandalia Business and Professional Men's Club of which he was a past president, and a past president also of the Vandalia Board of Education. He was plant manager for Harbison-Walker Refractories for 33 years.

On May 22, 1938, he was married to Mina Jean Lerdal, who preceded him in death in 1968. Edwin T. Harvey died Friday, September 18 at the Tri-County Nursing Home, Vandalia, Mo., following an illness of several months. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jack E. (Karen Jean) Timmons, San Diego, Calif.; a son, Lawrence Edwin Harvey, Shillington, Pa., four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Carl R. (Alma) McConeghey, Knoxville; Mrs. George Finley (Norma) Sprague III, Forest Hill, Md.; and Mrs. Magne (Gladys) Bjorklund, Goldfield.

Services were held September 21, 1987, at the First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia, Mo., with burial in Vandalia Cemetery.
