Maude Sparks
27 March 1861 ---- 10 January 1955Maude Sparks was born in Estill County, Kentucky to John William and Nancy Sparks on March 27, 1861. She passed away at the home of her sister, Mrs. Grigg Elkin, Sr. after a lingering illness at the age of 83 years, 9 months, and 14 days.
She was stricken at the age of seven years with typhoid fever which left her a deaf mute. She attended school in Danville, Kentucky after which she came to make her home with her sister for the past 29 years.
She is survived by two sisters, Lucille, Mrs. Grigg Elkin, of Eagle Grove and Nellie DeBusk of Burlington, Kentucky and 2 half-brothers, Steve and Sam Sparks and three half-sisters, Julia Jordon, Gertrude Harris, and Verna Hun, all of Kentucky.
She was a member of the Christian church of Estille County, Kentucky.
