William Midland
7 January 1890 ---- 4 February 1955

William Midland, born to Thomas and Lena Midland, January 7, 1890 at Eagle Grove, died at his home Friday, February 4, 1955, after a long illness. Services were held at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran church Monday at 2. Mr. Midland was baptized and confirmed and remained a lifelong member of this church.

He attended local public schools. About 1906 he was employed by the C & N W RR and only last month application was made for retirement from that road as freight conductor.

On June 11, 1913 he married Martha Gunderson of Eagle Grove, who preceded him in death Feb. 12, 1948. Their surviving children are Thomas of Eagle Grove, Dorothy, Mrs. Thealburn Thompson, of Lime Springs, and Margaret, Mrs. Callen Stansbury, of Eagle Grove. Also surviving are two brothers, Andrew and Hiram, both of Eagle Grove, and two sisters, Tennie, Mrs. Mathew Olson of Aurora, S. D., and Mrs. Lillian Peterson of Sioux Falls, and seven grandchildren. Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife were two brothers, Olaf and Ben, and one sister, Bertha, Mrs. Nels Koltvet.

Funeral services were Monday Feb. 7th in the Evangelical Lutheran church. Interment at Rose Hill cemetery.
