After an illness of less than two weeks with an aggravated form of appendicitis John Sherman passed away Friday night. It was feared from the beginning of his illness that it would prove serious. His family and friends secured every available help from skilled physicians and nurses. An operation was a last resort Friday. In spite of this his death relieved him from suffering.

The funeral services were held at the Catholic church at Eagle Grove Monday morning. A number of friends and neighbors from this place, were in attendance.

Mr. Sherman was a highly respected resident of this locality for a number of years living on the Eli Axon farm east of Goldfield. His wife and daughters Anna and Katherine, have the sympathy of many friends.
