Eldora - Marvin Alfred Lentz, 80, died Sunday April 10, 1994 at Eldora Manor. Services were held Wednesday, April 13th at the Elledge Funeral Home in Dows with burial in the Fairview Cemetery.

Marvin Lentz was born June 29, 1913 on a farm south of Clarion to Frederick and Millicent Wood Lentz. The family moved to a farm north of Blairsburg where he attended rural school. During his early years he was a ranch hand at Winnemucca, Nevada. On October 14, 1940 he married Avis Stewart Rhodes of Dows at Albert Lea, Minnesota. He was employed as a butter and ice cream maker for the Dows Creamery until its closing. He was employed by Bergs Creamery and later the Dodger Manufacturing Company, both in Eldora until his retirement in 1979. He suffered a stroke in 1988 which forced him to move to the Eldora Manor in 1989.

Survivors include a stepson Merlyn Rhodes and his wife Helen of Urbandale; two step grandchildren; four sisters: Althea Peterson of Dows; DeOra Hayden of Stockton, California; Doris Neureiter of Webster City and Valdine Gustafson of Sacramento, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Avis in 1978 and five brothers.
