Obituary

Martha Andrea Anderson was born to Anders and Martha Rolland near Bergen, Norway, Jan. 28, 1872 and died in Eagle Grove, Ia., Feb. 11, 1930, age 58 years and 14 days.

She came to the United States to Hardy, Ia. in 1893, and on Jan. 14, 1896, she was married to Jake J. Johnson at Clarion, where they lived until in 1897 when they moved to Eagle Grove where they have lived until Mrs. Johnson now passed away from this life.

Six children were born into their home viz Andrew of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Mable Hacker of Eagle Grove, Charles of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Myrtle Richardson of Goldfield, Harold, and Willard of Eagle Grove. These together with Mr. Johnson mourn the loss of a kind and faithful wife and mother. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, and by one sister, Mrs. Mary Kaiser of Rolfe, Ia., and three brothers, Knut, Andrew, and Burt Rolland, all of Eagle Grove.

Mrs. Johnson was very patient during her prolonged illness at which time it was my privilege to minister to her spiritual needs, but never did I hear her complain in the least. May the Lord bless her memory to her family as well as to all who knew her. Funeral services were held on Thursday from the Eagle Grove Lutheran church. Burial was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.
