Karen Amundsen Jensen
4 October 1852 ---- 15 June 1929

Karen Amundson was born in Granspastorate, Hadeland, Norway, Europe, Oct. 4, 1852 and died in Eagle Grove, Iowa June 15, 1929, at the age of 76 years, eight months, and 11 days.

She was united in marriage to Peter Jenson on May 9, 1881. They immediately set out for the United States and came, to Monroe, Wis. They remained there only a month, coming to Humboldt county, Iowa, to the vicinity between Thor and Eagle Grove, where they lived about six years, coming to Eagle Grove in 1888. Since then, Mr. and Mrs. Jenson have lived in their present home where Mrs. Jenson passed away from this life last Saturday evening.

Five children were born into their home. One little boy, Anders, died in 1896 at the age of twelve years. Two daughters, Emma, and Jennie and two sons, Carl and Joseph remain, who together with Mr. Jenson, now mourn her death. She is also survived by three grandchildren and one brother still in Norway.

Mrs. Jenson’s health has been poorly for many years. At times she has been confined to her bed, but she has not complained. She has taken her lot as the Lord has sent it. She trusted her Savior.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the home and from the East Side Lutheran church.
