Hallie Cecil Murray
16 May 1891 ---- 1 November 1929

Hal C. Murray, 38, former Eagle Grove resident and brother of Mrs. E. W. Snow, of this city, died from shotgun wounds at the Mercy hospital at Fort Dodge on Friday afternoon. While out hunting pheasants Friday morning, Murray was walking through a corn field, a few steps ahead of Glen Felton, 15, of New Virginia, Iowa. Young Felton was trying to eject a shell from his shot gun. The gun suddenly discharged, and the full charge entered Murray's back and side. He was rushed to Thor for medical attention and then to Mercy hospital at Fort Dodge. He died about 4:00 p.m. Friday.

Glen Felton, with his parents, had been visiting at the Hal Murray farm, and had accompanied Hal Murray and Charles Murray to Thor for a pheasant hunt.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the home near Badger and at 2:30 from the Baptist church in Eagle Grove. Rev. Muhleman was in charge.
