Raymond Arthur Rasmussen
18 May 1901 ---- 26 August 1929

Raymond Arthur Rasmussen was born in Eagle Grove, May 18, 1902. He was baptized by Rev. Holm. In this city he had lived all his life.

Raymond took sick with asthma at the tender age of three years and had never been really well since. But he was able to attend school, at least a good part of the time, and was up and around, but always felt the drawback he had to contend with of a poor health in childhood and youth.

About two years ago a series of complicated ills set in and since that time he began to suffer more and decline faster. He gradually got worse until August 8, when hemorrhages set in and brot him to the point of death. But he rallied some, was clear and conscious, and knew death was approaching. The expected end came Monday, Aug. 26 at 7:45 o'clock, at the age of 28 years, three months, and eight days.

Raymond is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lars Rasmussen of this city, and three brothers and one sister, namely, John of Minneapolis, Louis, Clarence, and Clara, who are with their parents at home. Two brothers preceded him in death, one in early childhood, and one, Norman, at the age of nine.

During his illness, Raymond had come to realize that he was a lost and helpless sinner, and that a change of heart was necessary in order to be saved. This he confessed and for this he prayed. We trust that the Holy Spirit wrought this blessed change in him through Jesus our Savior and that he was ready when the summons came.

The funeral was held Thursday, Aug 29 from the West Side Lutheran church.
