Katherine Schlagel Peters
7 January 1902 ---- 12 March 1982

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Peters, 80 of Dows were held from the Willim Funeral Home in Dows Monday, March 15 with Rev. Terry Palmer officiating. Burial was in the Dows Fairview Cemetery.

Born in Russia January 7, 1902, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schlagel. They came to the United States when she was 4-years old and settled in Alexander. On December 5, 1919 she was united in marriage to Earnest M. Peters. After their marriage they farmed in the Belmond and Alexander areas. In 1939 they moved to rural Dows and farmed until moving to town in 1946. In April 1978 they entered the Dows Care Center. Earnest died in 1980.

She is survived by two sons: Earnest Jr. of Dows and Kenneth H. of Sobranto, California. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Homer (Marie) Brooks of Indiana and two brothers: Peter Schlagel of Indiana and John Schlagel of Ackley, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son.
