Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p. m. at the Sacquety Funeral home in Eagle Grove for Hal Arthur Loobey, 67, Chicago, former Goldfield resident.

The Rev. Cassius McKnight, pastor of the Presbyterian Church conducted the services with burial in the Glenwood cemetery at Goldfield.

Services were held Sunday at 2 p. m. at the Sacquety Funeral home in Eagle Grove for Hal Arthur Loobey, conducted by the Goldfield Presbyterian pastor, chaplain of the American Legion post of Goldfield. Music was provided by Mrs. Milton Nelson, wife of the Legion Commander, and choir director of the Presbyterian church, and Mrs. Merle Harvey, organist there.

Hal Arthur Loobey, son of Nathan and Bertha Loobey was born on a farm near Renwick, November 10, 1890 and died in Chicago, Ill., Sept. 11, 1958. He grew up in the Luni community and attended Renwick high school. He moved to Goldfield with the family in 1912. Hal was baptized and united with the Baptist Church at an early age.

For many years he worked in the elevator in Goldfield and later in a lumber yard in Miles City, Mont. He was auditor of the Midland Lumber Co. of that city when he enlisted in the infantry September 5, 1917. He was sent to France, where he served until his discharge in 1919. He then worked in Chicago until his health began to fail, and he was in the Veterans hospital there several times in the later years, having an amputation of the right leg in December of 1957, which with complications, brought about his death.

His parents and brother preceded him in death. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Warren Vest, Goldfield, and Mrs. Don Loobey of Long Beach, Calif.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral for Hal Loobey were Mr. and Mrs. Syd Paulson of Des Moines; Andrew Clancey, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Clancy, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Clancey, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Hefley all of Hardy; Miss Lillian Clancey from Clarion; Merle Richardson, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Nissen, Mr. and Mrs. Donald McGowan, all of Renwick, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Vest of Dakota City and Dr. and Mrs. Don Vest of Alexander.
