Mrs. Warren Vest received word Sunday of the death of her brother Verne Loobey, 65. Mr. Loobey died June 7 at the Veterans hospital in Yountville, Calif., where he had been a patient for 14 years.

Funeral services and burial were held Wednesday, June 11, at the Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, Calif.

Verne Morris [Maurice] Loobey was the son of Nathan and Bertha Loobey and was born in Renwick on March 1, 1893. He died at Veterans Hospital in Yountville, Calif., June 7 at the age of 65 years, 3 months and 6 days.

He graduated from the Renwick High School in 1910 and moved to Goldfield with his family in 1912.

He enlisted in the coast artillery corps in April 1917 and was stationed at the presidio in San Francisco. After his discharge from the army, he worked in San Francisco until his failing health forced him to enter the Veterans hospital.

His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by one brother, Hal of Chicago, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. Ocey Loobey of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Elva Vest of Goldfield.

Mrs. Warren Vest received word Sunday of the death of her brother, Verne Loobey, 65. He passed away at a Veterans hospital near San Francisco where he has been a patient for 14 years, with a nerve paralysis condition.

Services and burial were held Wednesday, June 11, at the Golden Gate national cemetery, San Bruno, Calif.
