Lauretta M. Anderson Vitale

Lauretta Vitale, 71, of Brookfield, Ill., and a Dows native, died Thursday (May 2, 1985) in a LaGrange, Il hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:30 this afternoon at Willim Funeral Home, Dows, with the Rev. Roger Dykstra officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Dows. Mrs. Vitale was born Feb. 18, 1914, in Dows, to Alex and Nellie (Thompson) Anderson. She was raised and educated in Dows, graduating from Dows High School in 1931. She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1935. She taught schools in Iowa and Illinois, and for the past 17 years taught art at Hauser Junior High in Riverside, Ill. She married Frank Vitale on June 28, 1948, in Dows. Surviving is her husband, Frank; a son, Frank of Glen Ellyn, Il.; a daughter, Linda Kay Micevic of West Palm Beach, Fla., and a brother, Hector Anderson of Dows. She was a member of the. First Congregational Church, Western Springs, Il.; American Association of University Women; Order of the Eastern Star; White Shrine, and the Brookfield Historical Society.
