Pleasant Hill, Iowa - Diane Lee Douglas, 65, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Courtyard Estates in Pleasant Hill, IA. Diane was born December 18, 1954 in Fairfield, IA.

Diane spent parts of her childhood in State Center, Eagle Grove, and Fort Dodge, IA, graduating from Fort Dodge High in 1973. She spent the last 25 years of her career as a courier with FedEx Express in Des Moines. This job was made for her. She loved the outdoors and interacting with people. She seemed to know everyone in the greater metro area. It was impossible to be in public with her and not run into someone she knew, and she'd stop to talk and listen to each and every one of them.

Diane's bright blue eyes, electric smile and orneriness could brighten anyone's day. People were magnetized to her. She was the life of the party and did not know a stranger. She loved to listen to live music, dance and be with her extensive network of friends whenever she was not spending time with her family. Her energy and zest for life was contagious and inspiring. She lived every moment of her life to the fullest and in turn, those around her could do nothing but the same.

Diane beamed with pride raising her children and her family was her world. She was born to be a mother and was actively involved in each of her children's lives. And with the birth of each grandchild, it quickly became clear she'd created new pockets in her heart, one for each baby, reserved only for them. They called her Mamo. Her compassion, humor and soul is imprinted in each and every one of them.

Diane is survived by her parents, Carl (Joe) and Lyn Rupp, Lorene (White) Rupp; her children, Joel (Stacie) Walker of Grimes, IA, Brandi (Thomas) Thompson of Carlisle, IA, and Krissy (Justin) Marriott of Grain Valley, MO; seven grandchildren, Ty, Shea and Max Walker of Grimes, IA, Delaini and Eli Thompson of Carlisle, IA and Landen and Lilliana Marriott of Grain Valley, MO; her siblings, Cindy (David) Brown and Chris Rupp, both of Iowa City, IA; Tim (Susie) Rupp of Rolla, MO and Ed (Carolyn) Maschino of Badger, IA.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 10 am Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Sunny Hill Cemetery in Grimes, IA. Services will be at 9:45 am Saturday, June 6. A reception will follow the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family, Westover Chapel, to celebrate the work of frontline dementia care providers.
