March 17, 1894 ---- June 19, 1986

Darwin F. (Dutch) Larick, a lifelong Wright County resident, died on Thursday evening, June 19, 1986 at the Clarion Community Memorial Hospital. He was 92 and had been a patient there since Sunday. Prior to entering the hospital, he had been a patient at the Clarion Care Center for the past 4 -1/2 years.

Services were held from St. John's Catholic Church on Monday morning with Rev. Cecil McSweeney celebrating the Mass. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery and the Eyler-Willim Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Casket bearers were grandsons: Tim, Dave and Kevin Larick, Gary Marchand, Bruce and Dennis Rholl and Dave Marchand was an honorary bearer.

Born on March 17, 1894 at Eagle Grove, he was the son of George and Alice Watkins Larick and grew to manhood in the Head Grove area. His first marriage was to Christina Rink on September 18, 1915 at St. John's Catholic Church in Clarion. She died in 1934. On April 18, 1936, he was married to Leoma Harty at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mason City, and she died in 1968. Mr. Larick spent his life farming in the Clarion area.

He is survived by four children; LaVon Marchand of Clear Lake, Dick of Joice, Jim of Clarion, and Fran of Eagle Grove; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a brother, Bill, of Clarion. Preceding him in death were his parents, both wives, a brother, Lee, a daughter, Loraine Rholl and a great grandson.
