Mrs. Anna Thorup was called to the bedside of her sister, Miss Susan Wright in Cherokee Thursday afternoon. George Wright and Mrs. Ted Wright accompanied her. Miss Wright’s condition is regarded as serious.

Susan Walker Wright, daughter of Andrew and Mary Montgomery Wright, was born in Cambridge, Mass., June 3, 1859, and died at Cherokee, Iowa, Oct. 17, 1937, being at the time of her death, 78 years, 4 months and 11 days.

She moved with her parents to Jones county, Iowa, in 1869, and in 1872 they came to Eagle Grove, where she has since made her home.

Miss Wright was a life-long member of the Eagle Grove Congregational church, and was for many years a member of the choir.

She leaves two sisters, Mrs. Annie Thorup of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Minnie Montgomery of Ames, 10 nieces and nephews and many friends. Three brothers, George, Will and Jim, and two sisters, Mrs. Jane Davis and Lela Wright preceded her in death.

The funeral was held from the Kubitschek & Kastler Funeral Home, Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, the Rev. Albert S. Kilbourn officiating. Mrs. Vina Hall and Mrs. Fannie Cotton sang favorite hymns of the deceased. Burial was at the Goldfield cemetery.

Those from out-of-town who attended the funeral were Dr. Donald Thorup of Benton Harbor, Mich., Mrs. A. H. Waddell of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pride and Mrs. Minnie Montgomery of Ames.
