John M. Johnson was born at Rome, Ill., on March 17, 1870. He moved with his parents to Hardin county, Iowa, in the spring of 1883 where they farmed for two years, moving with his parent to a farm northeast of Eagle Grove. On Feb. 12, 1902, Mr. Johnson was married to Sena Worra. To this union two boys were born, Harlin and Irwin.

Mr. Johnson spent his entire life on the farm. Two years ago, he moved to Belmond where he passed away Aug. 15, 1930 at the age of 60 years, 5 months and 2 days. Death was caused by heart trouble and a slight stroke.

Mr. Johnson leaves to mourn his death, his wife and two sons already mentioned, three sisters: Mrs. Earl Hill and Mrs. Gust Gunderson, Eagle Grove; and Mrs. Adolph Amdahl of Holmes; four brothers: Peter Johnson, Ole Johnson and Joe Johnson of Eagle Grove and B. C. Johnson of Garham, Neb. All were present at the funeral.

Mr. Johnson was converted to God shortly after his marriage near Holmes. He has been living for the Lord, particularly during the time of his sickness, realizing God was with him and prayed and trusted in Jesus as his savior. Of disposition he was very unselfish and kind hearted, and looked to the good of others rather than to himself. He will be greatly missed, in particular, by his dear wife and children.

Funeral Sunday afternoon from the Holmes Lutheran church. Burial in the Holmes Lutheran cemetery.

May God bless our friends in this bereavement.
