Mrs. Marie Amdahl, 81, died Thursday at the Clarion hospital where she had been a patient for a few days.

Mrs. Amdahl, a long time resident of Eagle Grove, moved to Clarion on account of her health, last September to make her home with her daughter Mrs. Ingvald Alsvig.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Holmes Lutheran church in charge of Rev. Jordan T. Jacobsen. Burial was in the Holmes cemetery.

Mrs. Amdahl is survived by one son, Sylvester of this city, and two daughters, Mrs. Ingvald Alsvig of Clarion and. Mrs. Gaylord Berkenes of Mason City.

Marie Maline Johnson was born May 12, 1881 [1880] at DeKalb (County), Ill., into the family of John and Gudraad Johnson.

In 1883 moved to Hardin county, Iowa, and then in 1885 moved to Wright county, Iowa.

She attended school in Dayton township. She was baptized in Illinois and confirmed in the Holmes Lutheran church and was an active member for many years.

In 1906 she was united in marriage to Adolph Oli [Olie] Amdahl. To this union was born five children.

Her husband and two sons, Gerhard and Myron preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Sylvester of Eagle Grove and two daughters, Gertrude, Mrs. Ingvald Alsvig of Clarion and Marjorie, Mrs. Gaylord Berkenes of Mason City, Iowa. Also, by four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Amdahl has been failing in health for several years. She made her home with her son Sylvester in Eagle Grove until September of this year after which she stayed with her daughter Gertrude Alsvig of Clarion.

She passed away after two days at the Clarion hospital, Dec. 14, 1961, at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 14 days.

Marie Amdahl was a kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Funeral services were held December 18, 1961, at 1:00 p. m. at the Kastler Funeral Home in Eagle Grove and at 2:00 p. m. at the Holmes Evangelical Lutheran church. Rev. Jordan T. Jacobsen, officiating. Burial was in the Holmes cemetery.
